World Traveler

Dear World Traveler,
I am traveling outside of the country for the first time and I am really nervous about it. Is it scary traveling in a country you have never been to before?  How should I prepare for my trip?
Sincerely,
Nervous Traveller

Dear Nervous Traveller,
I know traveling in an unknown country can be nerve wracking but it is also exciting and a great learning experience. While abroad there is so much to learn about the culture your immersed in, as well as learning more about yourself, and even gaining a different perspective on life.
Before I go to a new country I make sure to do my research! It is important to know about the country you are traveling to. Knowing the culture in a country can help you avoid doing or saying something that is rude or offensive to the natives there and help you not look like an awkward tourist.  Another thing you need to know when traveling a foreign country is the potential danger zones of your destination.  Knowing which areas to stay out of can help you avoid theft or other possible dangerous situations. Researching your country will also help you find your "must see" places while in the country.  Having a plan of where you want to go and what you want to see will allow you to get the most out of your trip.
Do your research before you leave for your trip and I know you will make the most of your experience and have a fantastic time!

Hope this helps!
